The WI'09 / IAT'09 program will include tutorials providing in-depth background on subjects that are of broad interest to the Web Intelligence and/or the Intelligent Agents communities.

Proposals are solicited for either short (2 hours) or long (4 hours) tutorials on any aspect of Web Intelligence and Intelligent Agent Technology, including

Each tutorial should cover a single topic in detail. For example, tutorials may cover a WI/IAT topic in depth, introduce an emerging application for WI/IAT technologies, or update the WI/IAT communities on recent advances in related fields.
 

Proposals for tutorials, in .pdf format, should consist of an outline and background information on
the presenter(s). The tutorial outline should be limited to 2 pages and contain the following information:

1. Title and abstract of the tutorial

2. Proposed duration: 2 hours or 4 hours

3. Description of intended audience: to whom is the tutorial going to be of interest

4. Description of prerequisite knowledge: what background the attendees should already have

5. Detailed outline

The background information on the presenter(s) should be limited to 2 pages and contain:

1. Names, affiliations, homepages and contact details of all the presenters

2. Short biographies, including main publications related to the topic of the proposed tutorial

3. Information about previous tutorials given by the same presenters (title, conference, year, number of attendees, etc.)

Tutorial materials such as handouts and slides can be included with the proposal if already available from past editions of the same tutorial

Tutorial proposals should be sent to both tutorial chairs by e-mail. The submissions will undergo peer review, and tutorials to be presented will be selected by members of the Tutorials Program Committee.

Participation in all tutorials will be free to all registrants to the main conference, i.e., there is going to be no separate tutorial registration fee. As a consequence, there is going to be no honorarium or reimbursement of expenses paid to the tutorial speaker; tutorial presenters will obtain free registration to the conference, though.
